Frequently asked questions
- When I clicked on a search result, that Website did not have the same product and price as was shown on Qfly.
-
Qfly does not sell tickets; instead, we send your search to dozens of sites, and then when you select a result, you can make your booking straightaway.
Due to the volatile nature of travel pricing and availability (often changing by the minute), all online travel sites will sometimes show you a purchase option only to then have that option no longer available when you try to complete the purchase.
We know this is frustrating, and we are working as hard as we can to minimize these errors.
Please send us feedback on any problems you encounter so we can investigate right away.
- My browser does not seem to work well with Qfly.
-
We support all major modern browsers (Internet Explorer version 6 and above, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari and Opera). If you use one of these browsers, please use our feedback form to tell us about the problem you’re experiencing.
We are always looking for ways to improve our site, and if your favorite browser does not work well with our site, please tell us so that we can perhaps improve our site to support that browser.
- Sometimes when I run a search on Qfly, it appears to be working, but then no results are displayed.
-
Qfly has developed sophisticated JavaScript display technology that allows you to filter through hundreds of results very quickly. You might have configured your browsers, anti-popup, anti-spyware, anti-virus or firewall software to block JavaScript.
There are also some browser extensions, such as FireFox GoogleBar, that can interfere with Javascript. If you turn off such mechanisms one at a time, you can sometimes figure out which one is a problem. When you can isolate such a problem, please send us feedback with details so we can try to fix the problem.
- How many airlines does Qfly search?
-
Our goal is to search every airline that flies in Europe. Please refer to our airlines page.
- What do you mean by nearby airports?
-
Whenever you enter a city or airport and indicate that you want to include nearby airports in your search, we will find all flights to or from airports within a certain radius. We will show which airports those are before we start the search so you can choose to ignore one or more of those airports simply by de-selecting the checkbox for those airports.
- When I clicked on the link to book my flight, the other site told me my session expired or asked me to start my search over again. Why?
-
Often the provider sites have a period of time after which the session you are using times out. If you have had the result open in Qfly for more than 30 minutes before you try to book the flight, there's a chance that the provider will no longer honor the link Qfly has provided for you. You can either run the search in Qfly again to get a new link from the provider or you can run your search on the provider site.
- Why are you called Qfly?
-
First of all, we wanted a name that sounded fun and was short and easy to remember.
We want to be the smartest way to find flights, so we chose the Q from IQ (also from the “Q” character from Bond movies), and because we’re techies, we like Q as it is the first letter of “Query”.
- How does Qfly make money?
-
Qfly is a search tool. We are not a travel agency, which means that we do not book tickets but focus instead on finding the best deals for you, and then let you choose where you want to book the chosen flight.
Qfly gets paid if you click on a partner whose advertisement is marked on Qfly as a sponsored result. We do not charge users a fee.
- What is the cost of using your service?
-
Qfly is free for users, just like other search engines, such as Google.
- There are too many search results – how do I make the list smaller?
-
We are glad you asked :) since Qfly's ability to let you quickly filter and sort from among hundreds of search results is one of our most important features.
After you have entered a search into Qfly and we have shown you a list of results, you can click to change any of the “filters” on the right part of the screen (hint: try to click and drag on our scrollbars).
- Do you collect personally identifiable information from me?
-
Our goal is to make Qfly the most trusted travel search engine on the web. Part of this goal requires that we do a better job protecting your privacy than other top consumer websites that you have come to trust.
Qfly uses cookies to remember your search session parameters so we can send you to your chosen merchant website when you are ready to purchase.
If you give Qfly your email address, you should rest assured that we will never sell your email address to another company (we hate spam, too), and any travel newsletters you might sign up for on Qfly will always allow a single-click removal link at the bottom of each message.
Please see our privacy policy for more information.
